START A TRADE AT SCHOOL

As both a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and a Group Training Organisation (GTO), PEER is in a great position to prepare young men and women for a career in a variety of industries. Be it construction, mining, oil and gas, defence or even space, the journey can begin with PEER.

Our VET in School programs are a great way to start a career towards an apprenticeship whilst completing SACE.

We offer various methods of delivery including remote training, on-site at our trade training centre or on-site at our partnered schools.

In 2024 we are offering 3 Flexible Industry Pathways for students seeking to undertake a VET qualification and launch into their future.

WHERE IS THE TRAINING DELIVERED?

Online or On-site

PEER has recently implemented remotely delivered training to our VET in Schools students. The introduction of remote learning provides students with greater flexibility to complete theory components of their learning.

Each remote learning class is led by a dedicated trainer who supports and coaches students remotely, with practical components conducted later in the year. Students are invited to join a class via Microsoft Teams and connect with their trainer. Trainers will be available online to answer questions and support students through their learning.

Watch this short video below to learn more about how PEER delivers remote training.

PARTNER SCHOOLS

PEER provide on-site training at a number of schools across metro Adelaide, as well as in Mount Barker. In many cases these host schools may have space available to take extra students which makes the training accessible and more convenient for students. Contact us for further information.

INTERESTED IN PEER DELIVERING ON-SITE AT YOUR SCHOOL?

If you are interested in PEER potentially delivering courses at your school please give us a call. There are a number of factors that need to be considered including the suitability of the facilities for the trade training being delivered. We also need to ensure there are enough students interested to create a class. Alternatively, contact us to discuss remote training for your students, emailÌývetis@peer.com.auÌýor call 8348 1200.Ìý

WHAT IS VET for School Students (VSS) FUNDING?

TGSS has been replaced with VET for School Students (or VSS) for school students commencing next year in subsidised courses – VSS is a funding catchall for either institutional delivery or school based apprenticeships/traineeships. School Students may receive vocational education and training (VET) while they’re at school and continue it after they leave.

Through VSS, the South Australian Government offers subsidised training with a Training Provider like PEER for selected SACE students who are turning 16 within the year of training or older.
